Sauté

Sauté

This is a collection of  delicious mini-games. App Store link (5,49 €)

Would you like some pork curry with rice, shrimp gyoza, green soybeen soup or rather an omelet? Select your favourite recipe and prepare the food step by step.

Let’s say you want to do the pork curry with rice. You will have to succeed in five mini-games: peel the potatoes, slice the potatoe, carrot and onion, cut the pork, put the ingredients in a frying pan and sauté and finally stew. The mini games make great use of the touch-screen and the accelerometer. For the stewing stage you have to mix, control the heat and add ingredients according to timeline instructions.

When you’re done you will be rewarded with a nice meal and a medal according to the quality of your cooking performance. A new recipe will be unlocked. There is a total of 15 recipes to play.

I like the graphical style pretty much and the music is fun, too. But what makes this game fun most of all is the variety and the quality of the mini-games. I think it’s really worth the money – if you’re not sure than you should really try the lite version!

App Store link (5,49 €), lite version and developer link: Taito Corporation (they have a funky japanese website!)

I love Cooking Mama. It is really challenging but not so frustrating that cannot still have fun with it..There is a great companion game for this called Little Cook. It is similar but its made for children under 7 or 8 years old. I read about it at an iPhone app reviews site called AppsPatrol. Its the perfect game if you have a kid that is not quite video game sophisticated enough for Cooking Mama.
