When you start the app the realistic 3D-animated koi will slowly swim around. The water surface is in gentle motion and when you touch the screen it will cause circular waves. They are reflected from the screen edges which puts the whole water surface in motion. Also the koi will swim away.

If you hold your finger on the screen, the koi will first swim away but then return and gather at your fingertip.

Moreover you can shake the phone to feed the fish and drag around the water lilies.

If you touch the (i) in the lower right corner an option screen appears. Here you can change the water-colour, the amount of fish and water lillies and also toggle ambient the following sounds: rain, birds, wind, frogs and crickets.

The application appears almost meaningless but the truth is: it’s beautiful and relaxing. It’s almost as much fun as watching a real koi pond or an aquarium.
