A bear in a car in the woods
An experimental animal experience game. App Store link (0,79 €)
This might look like a fun retro racing game, but it’s not. It’s rather a car experience from a bear’s point of view. Just like a bear isn’t able to read any manual instructions, you’re not given much advice other than: “Operation Hibernation. Eat fish and berries to fatten up! Winter arrives in 5 minutes.”
Rolling the Ball
Simply roll the ball down the ramp and collect the stars. App Store link (0,79 €)
A difficult manoeuvre
Control a spaceship, rescue the crew, shoot enemies and recover a pod in this fun game. App Store link (1,59 €)
Phaze
Run, run, run! You must win this race! App Store link
I don’t like racing games that much. Actually, I only have had one for my PS2, but I loved, and love it. It is WipEout. And I was happy to see that there is a lil’ brother for the iPhone. Read the rest of this entry »
Katamari
The King of All Cosmos for your iPhone.
App store link
This is really a blast. Katamari, the cutting-edge PlayStation game for the iPhone. The King of All Cosmos charges you, ‘the prince’, to go to the earth, with a katamari, a magic ball that collects everything it touches, that is smaller than the ball. You roll the katamari through different areas like a big town, an island or a residence. The areas are full of different objects, from small to big. Objects which are smaller than your katamari will stick on it and after you collected enough objects the ball will grow so you can collect bigger things. Time is ticking and you have to make your katamari as big as it gets. Read the rest of this entry »

When you start the app the realistic 3D-animated koi will slowly swim around. The water surface is in gentle motion and when you touch the screen it will cause circular waves. They are reflected from the screen edges which puts the whole water surface in motion. Also the koi will swim away.
If you hold your finger on the screen, the koi will first swim away but then return and gather at your fingertip. Read the rest of this entry »

a level of the "tree of reflection"
The objective in this beautiful game is to cover the surface of different objects with paint by bounding them with a rope. App store link
At the beginning of a level the rope is nailed to the object and you simply rotate the object to wrap it. As soon as a certain percentage of the surface is painted a second nail on the object starts glowing and you can finish the level by attaching the rope to it. In higher levels the objects become more complex and it’s getting harder to reach all areas. Read the rest of this entry »
split screen
This is an animation with a real 3D effect without having to wear any 3D-goggles. App store link
This app starts two almost identical 3D animations of a ride in a rollercoaster next to each other on a splitscreen. As you hold the phone very close in front of your face and stare at the animations they start overlapping. It appears as if there were 3 animations next to each other. This causes a surprising 3D effect for the animation in the middle. Read the rest of this entry »
